Statement by José Ramón Alcalá:
José Ramón Alcalá (Valencia, 1960).
Professor of Graphic Procedures of expressions and Image Technologies, University of Castilla-La Mancha.
Director of International Museum of Electrography (MIDECIANT), Cuenca, since its founding (1989).
Head of “Collections and archives on contemporary art” (CAAC), Faculty of Fine Arts, Cuenca.
National Chalcography Award (MIDE) “for the innovations added to graphic art”, Madrid 1999.
Main researcher I+D+I projects of National and European Excellency on applications of the new technologies in artistic creation and virtual museography.
Author of books, such as: La piel de la Imagen (Valencia, 2011); Ser Digital; Manual para conversos a la cultura electrónica (Santiago de Chile, 2011); ¿Cómo se cuelga un cuadro Virtual? (Gijón, 2009); Monstruos, fantasmas y alienígenas. Poéticas de la representación en la cibersociedad (Madrid, 2004); o Ars & Machina. Electrografía Artística en la colección MIDE (Santander, 2004).
